It is understood that Peru's agricultural exports fell by 6% in April compared with the same period last year, due to seasonal reductions and the reduction in purchasing power of the European economy due to the economic crisis.

To encourage the production of secret cotton, the minister hopes to introduce relevant laws and regulations as soon as possible and formulate cotton competitiveness plan.

Agriculture minister geno ZIO said recently that in order to encourage the production of secret cotton, the secret government will introduce a subsidy policy for cotton production. The specific approach is to subsidize 22 new Saul per 100 kg of tanguis farmers.

The minister also said that the growers of these varieties of cotton were still protected before receiving government subsidies.

And the incentive policy is subsidized once a year.

The minister hopes that the relevant laws and regulations will be promulgated as soon as possible and the cotton competitiveness plan will be worked out.

The implementation of the plan will facilitate farmers to use certified seeds, get technical support and integrate into the market better.

Cotton growers will also receive fund support from trade traders and entrepreneurs in the industry chain so as to increase their productivity.

The minister also said that

The secretaries and local governments and related enterprises should also vigorously support the improvement of cotton productivity.

The cotton industry has created nearly 1 million jobs and 2 billion US dollars in exports per year.

Peru's agricultural exports fell by 6% in April, mainly affected by asparagus, peppers and fruits, due to seasonal reductions and the decline in purchasing power of the European economy due to the economic crisis.

But cotton exports in 1-4 months were 14% higher than the same period last year.

The minister added.

Exporters face the challenge of diversifying export markets.

Fortunately, the cotton production subsidy policy benefits from the management of the secret agriculture and health service (SENASA), and the secret products will have the opportunity to export to nearly 70 countries in the world.
