EU Antidumping Review Forum On Leather Shoes Was Held In Wenzhou

2008/3/26 0:00:00 10395

European Union

The EU adopted anti-dumping measures for two years in October 7, 2006 on leather shoes from China and Vietnam, and the measure is about to expire in October 6th this year. According to Italy's "24 hours Sun" report, the president of Italy Footwear Manufacturers Federation announced at Milan shoe show that Italy will extend the anti-dumping period to the EU as the EU's anti-dumping measures against China and Vietnam are about to expire. This indicates that the review of EU leather shoes is about to begin. For this reason, in March 19th, I would like to go to Wenzhou with the vice president of Wang Zhongqi and the two comrades of the fair trade department and the commodity department. I would like to convene together with Wenzhou foreign trade and Economic Cooperation Bureau and Wenzhou shoe leather industry association to discuss the business of Wenzhou enterprises. We have listened carefully to the export situation of major export enterprises such as Dongyi, Tamar, Jindi, Jill, AOKANG, Kangnai and so on, and the suggestions on how to deal with the EU's review again. During the meeting, we had a heated discussion and reached a consensus. In order to safeguard national interests and business interests, we should work together and cooperate with each other to jointly respond to the upcoming anti-dumping review. At the meeting, enterprises also reflected that since 2007, under the multiple pressure of macro-control policies such as lowering the tax rebate rate, continuing appreciation of the RMB, the introduction of the labor contract law, the credit crunch and other macro control policies, business has been struggling. The light industry, including the shoe making industry, has made great contributions to the national economic and social development. The international market share is hard to come by. It is hoped that the government can take corresponding measures to ease the difficulties in the development of the footwear industry, help enterprises tide over the difficulties, maintain the healthy, stable and sustainable development of the industry, avoid industrial relocation and transfer to Vietnam, India and other countries.
