The association and AAFA chairman Kevin M. Burke sent a letter to the Bangladesh government demanding that the Bangladesh government immediately release the garment workers arrested at the end of July 2010 due to the salary problem of the garment factory.

Most of the members are garment importers in the United States and have a certain degree of influence on the US government and the Congress.


The US Congress also sent a letter containing 17 members to the United States large garment importers, such as Wal-Mart, JC Penny, H&M, Cintas Corporation, K-Mart and VF Corporation, appealed to importers to exert their influence on Bangladesh government, to improve the encounter of the garment workers who were inhumane treatment in Bangladesh, and to dissuade the government of Bangladesh from abolition of the laws of some NGO (Non Non) organizations. Otherwise, the importers of garments importers in the United States may no longer place orders to some garment factories which are not friendly enough to workers in Bangladesh. In the letter, we mention two large Bangladesh countries.

Bangladesh's foreign minister, Dipu Moni, is currently working on the topic to the Bangladesh government and industry related stakeholders.

Bangladesh labor minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said the United States was misled by false news and said that the government of Bangladesh has the responsibility to protect people's property and personal safety and enforce the necessary laws and regulations. As for some so-called NGO organizations, if they engage in sabotage of social order and other activities, the Bangladesh government will deal with it in accordance with the law.
